Fargoer's World
Hear me, wanderer, as you must go north to reach this land. Travel from under the olive groves of Al-Andalus. Pass the villages and fields of the Frankish Empire and go through the dark and unknown lands of the Vends. Cross the gray and inhospitable ocean. From there you can find a land filled with dark forests, small lakes and rivers. Proud hills guard the shallow swamplands where you can feel the breath of the spirit world.
It is the land of opposites. In winter it is a dark and cold place. Be thoroughly prepared, or the wolves will find you, half-dead in waist-deep snow. But try to sleep in the white summer nights, wanderer, try and fail, as you wonder the splendor of this rugged land.
Vikings never go too deep in the forests, as there is often more peril there than riches. And if they hear a drum beating in the night, they curl tighter into their blankets, Odin's name on their lips and weapons in their hands.
No plow had touched the ground this far in the wilderness. This was the place of dreams and legends, of powers now long forgotten. Tales carried by whispers in the cold wind in this dark land.
Vierra is a young woman among the Kainu people, a tribe of age-old traditions and ways. Hers is the grim and solitary existence of a woman cursed with greatness and destiny.
Can she break her path painted in stone and find a place for herself in her tribe and in her turmoil-filled world? Or will she become ... the Fargoer?
